Service friendly and helpful, but Travel Desk did not book our taxi for the next day, only booked it the day of departure. Room stinks of cigarette smoke because the smoking area is only outside and not to one side. Breakfast was also very nice, but not included in the room price.

I literally have never enjoyed staying over as much as I did in CP City Lodge last year December 2022! They have the most amazing staff that any place can ask for! Everyone greeting you from the receptionists, male and females, the trolley man, maintenance man, hotel where you eat, all staff is on point, our days were made by the amazing cleaners, wow, these ladies know what they are doing and we had conversations with them, even the manager there in charge, everyone is so friendly, they enjoyed my children and my children had so many things to tell them and made jokes with them, they treated us with warmth. We missed our flight by one minute and had to go back and they welcomed us back again with such kindness, always asked us how our day was, greeted us each morning so well. The people working at the gate outside, I have so much respect for them, they are smiling and talking and taking care of any person with such caring inside of them. Literally each staff member working there treated us with warmth and kindness. I will never stay at any other lodge or hotel ever again, these people know value when it comes to clients. They have these lekker juices and water when you arrive. Coffee and tea each morning and my daughter drank just milk in the morning, they never complained once. Our towels were fresh each day when we came back. The restaurant and the staff were always ready to serve us with amazing food and drinks. Those people in the restaurant are just great, they are kind-hearted and so helpful. I wish I could literally stay there, we cried when we went back to Bloemfontein, we miss these people! Ladies and gents, thank you so much for making us feel like true family and friends. Our room was always kept up to standards. The whole Lodge was always clean and neat.

Conveniently located to get to everything. I would suggest that reception check in the overnight guests separately from the guests staying longer. People have no respect for silence at 11 o'clock in the evening, so the guests who stay longer have to hear other guests coming in all the time and making noise, slamming doors, talking loudly etc. This makes the stay for guests who stay longer very unpleasant.

Problem we had with the wrong Christmas dinner reservation was quickly resolved. The 2 ladies on duty on Christmas Day sorted us out very quickly in particular. Only regret I didn't bother to get their names. You know what customer service means. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the male driver on duty on Christmas Day. He cared little that our Christmas dinner booking was done incorrectly by the reception officer. To the 2 ladies involved, you are tops. Otherwise a fantastic holiday. Booked Christmas dinner at reception. The receptionist said that it was impossible to book for 13h00. The Christmas dinner was then only served from 18h00. At least he apologized, which we appreciated.

City Lodge V&A Waterfront has the friendliest, nicest people working there, from the first meeting to the day we left it was so nice to see the friendly faces at the counter and in the restaurant in the morning, then again in the evening when you return to hear "How was your day". For sure the nicest hotel with the nicest people. Many thanks to all of them!

City Lodge V & A Waterfront in Cape Town is centrally located for business matters. People are very friendly, just make sure if the business wants to book via website that the payment and transaction show/go through immediately (on the same day) and not until the next day due to another bank otherwise the rates can go up by R200+ like what the accommodation channel required.

Not so sweet summary. Noisy during the night, no bar fridge for medication that needed to be refrigerated, toilet almost falling off the wall, hardly any milk sachets, view from window of plants and back entrance, could not access WiFi. Only good thing was that parking was secure.

Walking distance from the V&A Waterfront, the aquarium, the marina, the hawel, the Zeits, etc. There are nice canal/harbour tours. Many views on the mountain and over the sea.
